The spring layer offers four tensions—Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm—and King sizes can be specified with split firmness across the width to suit two sleepers with different preferences. Above the springs, the upholstery combines a bonded British fleece wool and cotton layer with a second layer of blended British fleece wool and cotton to cushion contact and manage temperature by drawing moisture away from the body.
Both fillings breathe naturally and compact slowly, maintaining the mattress profile over time. The border is hand side-stitched in two rows, binding the spring perimeter to the upholstery and preventing edge collapse under load to maintain a full sleeping surface to the boundary. Hand tufting with felt washers draws the fillings into uniform compression, stopping migration or bunching. Air vents in the border enable passive ventilation through the mattress depth of 8.3 inches, plus 2.4 inches of natural doming.
